My story

Claines and St George's churches are fundraising this Christian Aid Week to support families facing hunger. 

In Nairobi, Kenya parents like Belinda are growing food in small spaces to make sure their children can eat. With support from Christian Aid and Beacon of Hope, families are learning how to grow food and build more secure futures. 

£5 could buy the seeds that kickstart a family's nutritious vegetable garden.

£15 could help purchase hand tools that mean an urban farmer can tend their crops

£250 could help purchase three tablets that a training group share to access farming news, weather forecasts, market prices and mobile banking.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.
