Christian Aid Week 2026 is here! Seven days. One powerful chance to make a difference together. And it’s easier than ever to start fundraising.
There's no action too big or too small. The most powerful fundraisers are often the simplest ones that bring people together to spark collective action.
However you choose to take part, your actions will transform lives and support communities around the world facing hunger and poverty.
Whether you’re a church volunteer, part of a school or community group — or simply want to do something meaningful — here’s some fundraising ideas to help you get started now.
Keep it social: organise an event
1. Serve up an event for foodies
Bring people together and raise money with culinary creations. Why not host a lunchtime soup, fancy afternoon tea or a curry night? You could put on one of our Big Brekkie events and sell take-home treats to help boost your fundraising. Visit our resources for details.
All food for thought!
2. Sell, sell, sell
Holding an art, toy, book, craft or plant sale is a great way to connect with your community while fundraising. Get your kids' ministries involved by holding a toy sale is a great way to invite your wider community to engage with your fundraising sale. Any opportunity to clear out unused toys is always very welcome!

5. Make a day of it
A family fun day or fete is a super opportunity to get your local community involved with your fundraising efforts, while also raising awareness for Christian Aid. You'll likely have pleanty of your own ideas, but activities, stalls and displays always work well. Maybe you could invite a choir or youth group to perform? The more you offer, the better.
And don't forget cake. Lots of cake!
6. Take on the 70k in May challenge
Cover the 70km any way you like, whether that’s swimming, walking, running or hiking.
Do it alone or with your church, friends or family. Split it into manageable sections or even do it in relay.
7. Track down treasure
Music nights, craft workshops, art exhibitions and book fairs can be great fundraisers. Invite people to perform, make, share or buy something they love to help fight poverty and injustice.
You could even incorporate our creative campaign action into the event.
8. Host a film screening or discussion night
Choose a film or topic linked to global justice, climate or community. Keep it accessible, allow space for conversation, and invite donations. This works well for churches, student groups and community spaces.
You could end the night with a screening of the Christian Aid Week film too?
Fundraise from anywhere
9. Fundraise online
Setting up an online fundraising page is quick and powerful.
Share your story, explain how and why you’re taking part, and invite friends and family to give. This is perfect if time is short or supporters are spread out. Or try hosting a virtual bingo or karaoke.
10. Get children and young people involved
Young people bring energy, creativity and generosity.
Simple fun activities like sponsored silences, game nights, or a danceathon can raise vital funds while having fun.
