Christian Aid Week 2026 is here! Seven days. One powerful chance to make a difference together. And it’s easier than ever to start fundraising.
There's no action too big or too small. The most powerful fundraisers are often the simplest ones that bring people together to spark collective action.
However you choose to take part, your actions will transform lives and support communities around the world facing hunger and poverty.
Whether you’re a church volunteer, part of a school or community group — or simply want to do something meaningful — here’s some fundraising ideas to help you get started now.
Keep it social: organise an event
1. Host a quiz night
A quiz night is a classic for a reason. You can run one in a church hall, community centre, pub back room, or online.
Charge a small entry fee, add a donation bucket or online link, and keep the questions fun and inclusive.
Why not use our Christian Aid Week quiz?
2. Organise a bake sale
Everyone loves a bake sale. It’s simple, joyful and works for all ages. Invite your friends, neighbours or colleagues to contribute cakes or savoury treats, then sell all your treats after a church service, at the school gate or at work.
Just make sure to spread the word first.

A relaxed and friendly coffee mornings is nice and easy to organise. You can add homemade cakes, some tea and coffee, and a short moment to share why Christian Aid Week matters.
Ideal for all churches, workplaces and communities.
4. Run a raffle or tombola
Raffles are low effort and can be rewarding fundraisers.
Try asking local businesses, friends or colleagues for small prizes, sell tickets before or during an event, and draw the winner on the day. They’re popular with all generations and are simple to manage.
Fundraising for Christian Aid Week 2026 is about taking part and putting your hope in action. Every action counts. Stand with others and help create lasting change.

5. Hold a community meal
Food brings people together like nothing else.
Host a Big Brekkie, curry night or a themed meal. Ask for donations instead of tickets and use the space to spark conversations.
6. Take on the 70k in May challenge
Cover the 70km any way you like, whether that’s swimming, walking, running or hiking.
Do it alone or with your church, friends or family. Split it into manageable sections or even do it in relay.

7. Try a creative event
Music nights, craft workshops, art exhibitions and book fairs can be great fundraisers. Invite people to perform, make, share or buy something they love to help fight poverty and injustice.
You could even incorporate our creative campaign action into the event.
8. Host a film screening or discussion night
Choose a film or topic linked to global justice, climate or community. Keep it accessible, allow space for conversation, and invite donations. This works well for churches, student groups and community spaces.
You could end the night with a screening of the Christian Aid Week film too?
Fundraise from anywhere
9. Fundraise online
Setting up an online fundraising page is quick and powerful.
Share your story, explain how and why you’re taking part, and invite friends and family to give. This is perfect if time is short or supporters are spread out. Or try hosting a virtual bingo or karaoke.
10. Get children and young people involved
Young people bring energy, creativity and generosity.
Simple fun activities like sponsored silences, game nights, or a danceathon can raise vital funds while having fun.
